Hello. Today, I’m writing to give you spoilers of my next article… 😉
Teachers with a migraine are a common sight in most school staffrooms. The pressure of completing the syllabus in time, distracted students, unscheduled holidays and events, all add to the stress in a school teacher’s life. There’s hardly any time for lesson planning, much less for elaborate preparation!
So how can we use creativity to maximise learning outcomes in each class period?
Innovative Teaching Aids help students grasp the topic faster and retain information for longer.
In my next article, I look forward to sharing creative ideas for teaching aids that you can make or even source with minimal time, money and effort. The idea is to use our creative juices to design effective lesson plans that help keep our students attentive and reduce our effort. Isn’t that just why they’re called teaching aids?
Teaching Ideas for all subjects
Even as my next article tries to cover lessons in various subjects, I hope you will use the ideas in your own way to fit in with your specific lesson plan and topics more sharply. With your creativity you can link any idea to facilitate the learning of your topic effectively.
Some principles of good teaching aids
- Appropriate size – They should be clear and easy to read
- Meaningful – They should be appropriate to the purpose
- Cost-effective – They should be economical
- Accurate, Realistic, Up-to-date
- Appropriate to the mental level of the learner
- Informative
- They supplement the teaching process, they don’t replace the teacher
- They should aid the lesson, not distract from it.
Summing up
Innovative teaching methods and teaching strategies in your lesson plan add a fresh approach to teaching learning.
